The 491st Bomb group

The 491st Bombardment Group (H) had many supporting units which performed the great many tasks required to keep our planes in the air, flying combat missions.  Fuel, bombs, ammunition, oxygen, food, etc. to name only a very few of the needs caused us to have several ground support people backing up each combat crewman.
